We have been in operation for over 40 years and are the largest used bookstore in southwestern Manitoba with over 50,000 books. Staffed by George, Xisra, Gabby, Emily, Susana, and Robyn.
About Our Books...
We have three floors of well-loved used books for your browsing pleasure. Whether you're a casual reader or a serious collector, you'll find a book to fit your taste and budget here. We have a large collection of books of all genres.
Our main floor contains general fiction such as: popular fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, crime and suspense, legal suspense, true crime, romance, paranormal romance, romantic suspense, historical fiction, westerns, Christian fiction, political thrillers, techno thrillers, and private eyes.
Also housed on our main floor is a sizable children's section, the Canadian Room with fiction & non-fiction novels, and reference books all written by Canadian authors, as well as a section housing over 400 books worth of local history.
On our top floor you’ll find music, art, humour, horror, poetry, and literature.
The basement contains an extensive war section, religion, philosophy, biographies, travel, health and wellness, self-help, cook books, pets and a hobby section with books on sewing, knitting, woodworking, decorating and much more!
We Welcome Your Trades...
Bring in your gently used books for trade consideration for store credit.
We do NOT accept:
Serial Romances such as but not limited too Harlequins and Silhouettes
Taped, torn, highlighted, and/or scored books
Books exposed to allergens such as smoke or mold and the like
Ex-library books
Magazines or encyclopedias
Hard cover popular fiction
We divide traded books into two categories: popular fiction and general for store credit.
Books taken out must be similar to ones brought in; like for like.
Credit is not applicable to ABE books, consignment books, or local history.
Popular Fiction: Mass Market trade Paperbacks including True Crime.
Literature: Poems, stories, and plays with cultural significance such as classical works admired over time.
Children’s: Shorter stories geared towards younger readers (picture books and chapter books). Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys are classified as Classic Literature.
We also consider books for purchase
We will consider purchasing quality new, used, out of stock books, scarce and collectible editions - One book or entire collections.
One of our staff members will examine each of your books and make a decision whether or not to buy it, based on its content, condition, salability, and our current inventory status.

Donations
Books that do not meet our trading or purchasing criteria can be donated in-store to community not-for-profit charities in Westman, such as the local Rotary chapter, the local hospital and children's charities.
We reserve the right to refuse any books for trade.
Prairie Showcase
Prairie Showcase neighbours the Bookmart at 655 10th street in Brandon, and specializes in custom framing, Canadian pottery and giftware. We carry a number of art pieces by local artists from around the country. Come and see our large selection of art prints, cards, and framed art ready for hanging.
Or bring in your own artwork and choose from over 2,000 frames, 1,000 mats, and 5 kinds of glass. We can cut highly specialized mats with our "Wizard" mat cutter. We also have framing software that shows you what your picture will look like with a variety of mats and frames.

Gift certificates are available for both BookMart and Prairie Showcase.
